Workshops for group leaders and group therapists.
The tools you need to lead effective, engaging, and enjoyable groups.
Have you found leading groups to be stressful, tiring, or uninspiring?
You’re in the right place! And you’re not alone.
Group work can be hard when you don’t have the tools or know-how to engage your group members, and keep yourself engaged too.
But group work doesn’t have to feel like such a heavy lift. Imagine being able to look forward to your groups, to feel engaged and even energized by them. It IS possible!
Group leader workshops will help you:
Feel more calm, confident, grounded, and prepared
Engage your group members in lively conversation
Change the dynamic of the group through your language and use of physical space in the room
Know how to problem-solve in the moment when your group’s energy is low or members are off-topic
Develop your own personal toolkit of skills and interventions tailored to your groups’ needs
Come join me at a workshop!
I’ve practiced as a therapist since 2013, and have spent nearly 1000 hours over that time facilitating groups! I love leading groups, and I know what makes a group work!
In trainings I cover topics like:
Setting the tone for active engagement in the first five minutes of group.
Supporting your group members to share freely, and stay on topic.
Keeping the energy flowing in your group through your use of questions, summaries, and reflections.
Creating your own personal toolkit of techniques that will work best for the groups you lead.
I’ll do live demonstrations of each mindset and technique offered in the workshop, and you will leave with a simple set of tools to put into practice right away.

I graduated from Boston University with my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine in 2013.
I began my career at the Faulkner Hospital, in the detox and partial program, where I developed a love for addiction recovery work. From 2014 until 2020 I worked with hundreds of individual clients, and many more in group therapy. From 2016-2020 I was the group therapy program coordinator and lead group therapist at the Gavin Foundation. From 2020 until 2024 I worked at a group private practice where I focused exclusively on longterm individual therapy.
I have expertise in working with a number of challenges that can co-occur with addiction, including anxiety, depression, disordered eating, high sensitivity, ADHD, childhood emotional neglect (CEN), and codependency.
